Toshiba RG4-E02 at the FCC

Toshiba’s new Phone/Pocket PC just cleared the FCC’s approval.

The appearance is similar to the HTC TyTN. Very similar infact… But Toshiba call this a Pocket PC with phone capabilities instead of the other way around. This will be the take 2 of the G900.

Here are some specifications:

  • Triband GSM (900,1800,1900) and 3G UMTS
  • Windows Mobile 6 Proffesional
  • 128 MB RAM + 128 MB ROM
  • Marvell PXA270 processor (guessing at 312Mhz)
  • 3″ TFT LCD (480×800) 65k colors?
  • Bluetooth
  • WiFi 802.11b/g
  • Mini-SD expansion slot
  • Mini USB (also charging port)
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Additional camera on the front for video telephony
  • Speakerphone
  • Comes with earphones and stylus
  • No clue on price or release date.

    The new alinco DJ-V27 is the last link in their new portable line-up. Similar in features as the DJ-V17 and DJ-V47.
    This is the 220mhz model. And produces 5 watts 222-225mhz (216-250mhz receive).

    Yaesu VX-3R, latest in new Yaesu line-up

    After the FTM-10R and FT-450 now Yaesu is completing there new look with the VX-3R a multiband micro-miniature transceiver.

    The succesor to the similar VX-2R with mostly the same features;

  • 1.5 watt output on VHF, 1 watt on UHF
  • Wide band receiver including 1.8-30 mhz
  • 1000 ma 3.7v Li-Ion battery
  • The Sub-RX feature allows you listen you AM or FM radio broadcast while monitor a HAM frequency, and you can talk on it by hitting the PTT button.

    There also is a build-in frequency (channel) counter, for receiving nearby signals. They will we displayed on the screen, and written to a special memory group.
